Domestic Abuse
“The thing that I did not know that was so revealing to me was that anywhere between 50% and 75% of domestic violence homicides happen at the point of separation or after [the victim] has already left [her abuser],” says Cynthia Hill, director of HBO’s Private Violence. (Kasperkevic, 2014 pg 1). date accessed 15/9/2015
I chose this quote from a newspaper article in The Guardian because I thought it was very useful information as it has statistics on about homicides on women being domestically abused which fits in which my area of study.
Sexual Abuse
(Travis, 2015, pg 1)
I have chosen this article about sexual abuse because it gives statistics about how child sexual abuse has increased in the past few years. This will benefit me for my research because it shows what a big problem child sexual abuse is and would appeal to a large audience.
Emotional Abuse
(Bailey, 2014, pg 1) Date accessed 15/9/2015
I have chosen this article because it gives a real life story of someone who was emotionally abused by their partner. This article is very important to my research because it is showing that anything can happen to anyone and in this article it says that 1 in 4 women are abused which is a very strong statistic.
